Momma and Puppy Rescue
A few weeks ago someone emailed Darcy Galati, the head of CANDI (Cats and Dogs International) who I work with. They said that there was a Momma and her pups in very sad shape at the pound in Playa Del Carmen. Ricardo, who runs a rescue in Cancun went down and picked them up and twelve other dogs. He kept the momma and I sent the puppies to Erica, our vet. Sadly, only one of the puppies survived. She is here with me now.
Luckily I have a little playmate for her (Carmen nee Pudding) and the two are presently living under my dining room table. They keep each other good company and are starting to feel well enough to play. As you can see, it has completely worn Carmen out.
The wonderful thing about this rescue is that it was done in collaboration with many hard working groups in the area. Working together makes things happen. Ricardo is still caring for the Momma dog.
