Wow! Our fabulous online auction ended yesterday and the winners were announced last night at our fundraising party at Tiny Gecko! Congratulations to all of the winners (everyone should have received an email)!

And a HUGE thank you to all of the generous local businesses who donated items, and give back to their community! Please pay them a visit on your next trip! #shoplocal

We hope next years raffle will be as fun & successful! Big thank you to all who participated by sharing the posts and entering!

Please see below for the list of winners (chosen at random by the third party rallyup.com site where the raffle was listed: Our system uses a proven, well-known randomization algorithm for choosing winners. Our drawing code has been tested and certified for randomness by a third-party testing facility.) 😄:Image attachmentImage attachment

Congratulations to all who won. If you know about Islaanimals you know what a fantastic job they do for the animals on the island and in Rancho Viejo. This raffle will help them in November for the spay and neuter clinic in Rancho Viejo. Like Sally Margolis, I didn’t win but sure had a good time entering. Enjoy your time in the sun on the island.

Congrats to the winners! We'll try again next year!

Congratulations! Very happy it went so well ! I didn’t win the CARM prize but that’s ok, it’s for great cause/paws! 🐶

Congrats to all the winners and to all the amazing businesses who donated such awesome prizes!! I didn't win but, I will try again next year-This was fun!

Congratulations to the winners! Jealous! I didn’t have any of the lucky winning tickets. I hope the raffle was a great fundraising success.

Awesome raffle! I hope you made tons of money!! I actually did win!!

I would like to give the dog grooming I won to you guys to use please at Isla!

Yay ! I won three raffles!!

Congrats winners. I’m super jealous 😂

IT WAS FUN! And MANY, MANY thanks to Marrien Neilson and all the others who volunteer countless hours to organize, plan and implement these fundraisers that allow Alison Sawyer Current and Isla Animals to continue making a difference on this island.

Amazing idea I love it!!!

These poor babies were picked up from the street by our wonderful vet Arturo. Hes keeping them for a while and then hopefully we can find them wonderful homes. There is nothing better than that. We are up to $610 in new monthly donations, our goal is 2,000. I know we can do this. As we expand and help more animals our clinic costs have gone up so we are trying to keep up with the demand. Thank you in advance. Just 10 to 20 dollars a month can make a big difference. http://islaanimals.org/donate-animal-rescue-isla-animals/Image attachment

Great month of June, we did 62 free spays and neuters and now our drive for new monthly donations is up to $610 thanks to Ronald and April. Thank you everyone, we are making a difference. http://islaanimals.org/donate-animal-rescue-isla-animals/. We sent this adorable dog home with our friend Barb on May 18, 2018. He’s the second dog that she has adopted from us. He was abandoned with his mom, people simply packed up and left them alone in the house. When Stitch left he was nervous and unsure. Just look at him now. Thank you Barb for making him feel safe enough to play and enjoy life again, he looks like a puppy. The momma dog lives in BC, Canada.Image attachment

We will be arriving in two weeks, looking forward to taking the pups out for long walks every day while we are there!

Thank you 🙏

WOW. Always a 2nd chance for a good, happy life!

And it all begins with Isla Animals. Thank you Alison for the thousands of dogs you have saved, the programs you have in place on Isla from weekly free spay and neuter clinics, going into the neighbourhood and giving free flea and tick treatments to helping to educate the islanos of caring for their pet. Stitch and I are blessed that you were there to save him and his mom. To all my friends....if you you are thinking of a charity to donate to I would be honoured if you would make it to Isla Animals. 🐾🐶🐾

Thank you Bonnie, we are up to $555.00 in our drive to raise our monthly donations by $2,000.00. This money will go towards our rescue animals and out-reach program. Over one quarter of the way there. Our average donation is $15 - $20. Please share. These two, Gio and Jenn are a bundle of adorable energy. They play with the dogs and cats and any people available and then they crash. They are a mix of poodle, terrier and Chihuahua. They are in foster now and we’re hoping that, when they are ready to go, they can go together.

If you would like to join our Monthly Donor club, you can see how to make a recurring monthly (or one time) Paypal donation on our website. See link below! Once on our page, 1- Click the orange donate button. 2- enter your amount and 3-check the box Make this a monthly donation. Its that easy! You will receive an automatic email notification of your donation on the same day each month, and you are free to cancel at any time. We couldnt do any of this without you-Thank you!:

Done. Set it up monthly after seeing the before and after photos of some dogs that you all saved. Great job. Inspiring.

Iam fostering them and i tell you, we get a belly laugh at least once a day! I gave them a time out (long but funny story), and closed them in the bathroom, where their food, water and crate is. Its a sliding door, 5 minutes later i came back in the room to find my cats opening the door to let them out...

So adorable!!

Omg I love them! Roger Welton this the the shelter and friend I’ve been telling you about!!!

JUST ADORABLES!♡♡

Oh my heart!!!❤️❤️❤️

Oh em gee!!! How sweet

Come on $20 a month R more

Yahoo, our westies are in a loving home. It has been a battle getting these two cuties and we had hoped to get more of them but the owner is very difficult. He has too many dogs, and he breeds and sells westies which is illegal in Mexico (to sell dogs). He has about 12 more and we have been trying to help. We dewormed them all and put tick and flea meds on them to no avail because the place where they are is so infested. The city is trying to do something about this, and we will help where we can. I’m so excited, thank you Melissa, Ronda, Jeanette and Sherri, we are up to $560 in our drive to raise monthly donations which we use to run our rescue shelter and pay for free spays and neuters.. We just need a little from a lot of people. Please share and join our Monthly donators club. http://islaanimals.org/donate-animal-rescue-isla-animals/Image attachment

If it’s illegal why is he not getting jail time or a big fat fine.

they are darling despite the ugly beginning they've endured! thank you for caring for them!

A huge thank to Jeanette and Lynn who have brought our drive for new monthly donations up to $470. Almost one quarter of the way there. Please share, we can do this. Mentira and her pups have graduated. The pups are all weened and Mentira is learning to be an indoor dog with people who adore her. All nine pups survived and are doing so well, growing like weeds. And they all have their mom’s sweet disposition. I was so angry when the owner let her dog have pups and then handed them all to me at five days old. But now all those pups will get good homes and be vaccinated and spayed and neutered. Better than handing them off to children on their way home from school. That is what happens so often and then the mom says no and that poor little pup is dumped in the street to fend for itself.

Because our clinic is very small and we want to help as many dogs as possible, we’re really working to improve our out-reach program. I wrote about this sad abandoned dog a few weeks ago, luckily we now have permission to go in and take care of him. We named him Chestnut. He tested positive for ehrlichia so that is his first treatment as well as meds for intestinal worms and ticks and fleas. We’re also treating this cutie across the street and have promised to find him a home when we have the space for him. In the mean time we will neuter them and get them fully vaccinated. Even though they have to stay where they are they will get everything they need and we are keeping records on them, in fact we are now keeping thorough records on every out-reach dog we are working with. We have many who are being treated with daily or monthly medications. Your donations make this possible, please share so we can increase our monthly donations and expand this program.Image attachment

I try to post positive things but then every once in a while I have to share more. Isn’t this pup adorable…He looks fine but he’s sick and he can spread the virus that he has. WE need to vaccinate as many dogs as we can. Please set up a monthly donation with Isla Animals. We will use them to help pups like this one. We have raised over $300 in new monthly donations and our goal is $2,000. It’s easy to do and our average donation is $20 a month, just a few cups of coffee. Please help us help these pups. I will tell you how the pup does. http://islaanimals.org/donate-animal-rescue-isla-animals/

Do you remember the roof pups? Starving on a roof and we couldn’t get to them, very frustrating. Well we finally got them and oh did they love to eat and they were sweet and affectionate and wonderful. They all have homes now. How cool is that? Ned, on the right, is now Ceasar and with Jennifer in BC. Dusty is black one, in center, and has gone to a home in Minesota, and Lucky, on the left, is now Sawyer (yahoo, named after me) is in Nebraska with Amber. What a great happy ending. Even when these pups were starving they didn’t fight over food, they just wanted to be in a happy home. We are over $300 in our drive to raise monthly donations, please share so we can reach our goal. ... See MoreSee Less

Beautiful story with a happy ending for these sweet Angels <3

Thanks for saving these beautiful puppies! We need more people like you. ❤❤

Named my rescue pup for you too though we didn’t get our Sawyer Grace from Isla due to airline wouldn’t permit (SW) so we adopted her here in DE. We did enjoy our visit to the facility last summer, played with puppies and dropped off donation. Keep up the great work.

Meet Geo and Jenn. They are the cutest things and lucky to be alive. There were so many nasty things going around in their neighborhood but the mom never got sick. Now the pups are 7 weeks old, vaccinated and on their way to a wonderful safe life. Amazing how these viruses pass over some animals. The mother is sweet and friendly and the family that owns her takes great care of all their animals.Image attachmentImage attachment

I think that this momma’s face says it all. She has nine pups and has been an amazing mom. But really, we have so many adorable puppies. And in many cases it’s after we’ve filled them with vitamins and tended to any other problems the poor little things have had to deal with. It’s not that we don’t love puppies it’s that so many suffer and we don’t need anymore, there are already too many that need help and homes. These are lucky pups, living at my house and still nursing at 6 weeks while I fill their mom with good food. A rare occurrence and why we have to spay and neuter until this problem is solved.

If you would like to become a Monthly Donor ($5, $10, $20 a month helps us so much!), you can see how to make a recurring monthly (or one time) Paypal donation on our website. See link below! Once on our page, 1- Click the orange donate button. 2- enter your amount and 3-check the box Make this a monthly donation. Its that easy! We couldnt do any of this without you-Thank you!:

Beautiful Mom precious pups

Isla Animals what would the steps be? Approx cost ??

Awwww I LOVE them ALL!

I'll just take her off your hands. I need a support dog and she could use all the love she can get.

Good mommy, l love it

A beautiful family

You all are Angels to those poor hopeless mother dogs and all the others too!

Unbelievable! I'm fostering a cat with only 3 kittens and they are all over her. What a good Mama with so many puppies. 🐕❤

Beautiful puppies and Momma she looks tired

Those pups look big enough to eat on their own.Poor mom Dog.

Poor MoMA puppies is so cute

Awe,mom needs help.id give pups milk to help her

I love puppies but however i aldo love okder dogs. Would love to adopt mama dog but im up in canada.....

Poor babies. Wish I was closer.

The momma nails need to be trimmed really bad .

That poor mum. So sad.

You have such a job : ( we have only been on the island for a day and I am almost in tears - the pups life's are soooo different from the ones back in the states - the ones I've seen on the streets today - injured, unaltered - so sad . it's killing me. : ( thank you for working on the problem . we re going to stop by this week , we just have a few things , but just want to see the good work you're doing, thank you so much <3

Beautiful puppies. Mom too.

Look at what you have done over the years and yes, there are fewer puppies now than then thanks to you and your team. I know it seems endless but in another 10 years you’ll have isla in a perfect shape. Hugs.

Puppies of course are adorable. In the long run just causes over population at shelters & other problems for the momma if she isn't spayed. It's a must for females to be spayed. Males to be neutered.

Beautiful Momma and babes !

poor momma you are so sweet you have some sweet babies

Such a lucky momma to be with you💕

Bless your little heart it's been rough

Beautiful and gorgeous little babies poor mom

We are so excited. We’re up $240.00 in our monthly donations thanks to Jenna, Sarah, Jennifer, Jane, Kira, and Kevin at J.K. CASA. Please keep spreading the word. We need another $1,760.00. I know we can get there. And now I have a feel good story for you. We ended up with Tyson in our clinic, and it’s a good thing we did because he had Ehrlichia and Stage four heartworm, and limited use of his back legs. We’ve treated him for both but he still has some lingering issues that we are taking care of. Unfortunately he was depressed at the clinic. He’s 4 or 5 years old and used to living in a house. SO we decided to take him back to his family and continue his medicine as outreach. WELL it was the best decision. He even walked better when he saw them and the entire family came out to greet him. What a treat to have such clear affirmation that it was the right thing to do.

Isla Animals
Amazing Sunday. Mary Louisa, Jeanette and I went to the guatalupana, going house to house, giving vaccines to any dogs under a year (those were the only kind of vaccines we had) and tick and flea meds. We made appointments to spay four dogs and gave out food. I’ve been doing this for so long most of the people know me and I always enjoy going out there. We did have a sad ending. The neighbors showed us an abandoned dog who everyone has been trying to care for without entering the yard, which is a no no. Well we entered (ha ha don’t tell anyone). We considered it an emergency, it’s so hot here and the dog had no food, no water. There are even three chickens there that are not being cared for. So so sad, what is wrong with people. I want to chain the owner up without food and water, just for a day so he can experience the kind of life he’s putting his dog thru. By the way, the dog is sweeter than sweet.Image attachmentImage attachment

Amazing work! Thank you Thank you!

Wonderful heroes!

Thanks, thanks, thanks

Thank you God Bless you

Bless you ! You are their Hero ❤️ We enjoyed hearing Jeff at the Soggy Peso Friday

so proud of all the work you do, I wish I could do more allthough I have adopted 3 dogs from Humane Society of Cozumel Island

If you got him or her (the chickens too?) in time, it’s not a sad ending. I’m always blown away at what you do Alison. All of you.

Before I return to Isla, I will contact you. My husband and I would like to volunteer for you.

Did u manage to get the dog from them ?

I wish you could get the dog but at least you provided food, water and comfort. The dog must have been so happy to have received attention and kindness. ❤

I agree with you. People who abuse and neglect animals should feel the same pain they’ve inflicted...a..holes

Thank you Deborah, Stacey, Carol, Karen, Ron, Jordan, Jennifer, Gloria, Sally, Dee, Teirney, Gillian and Heidi (who raised her donation) for setting up monthly donations. We now get $175.00 more each month. That will by one large dog crate and four 15 kilo bags of dog food OR buy 17 first vaccines OR cover the cost of 19 free consults for people who can’t afford it OR pay for 3 x-rays. Just to give you an idea of where your money is going. Below are pictures of our new 5 week old pups, they are so fat and healthy because we have the mom still feeding them. The $175.00 that has been added to our monthly donations will pay the vet costs (we buy the medicine) to spay and neuter them. And we have the best vet, Arturo, we’re so lucky.

If you would like to become a monthly donor, you can see how to make a recurring monthly (or one time) Paypal donation on our web page. Once on our page, #1 Click the orange donate button. #2 enter your amount and check the box "Make this a monthly donation". Thank you!:

Ohhhhh. I'm coming to see these babies next month!

I give $10 each month, have for many years, and I don’t even notice it’s gone. It’s such an easy thing to contribute a small amount, on a regular basis, and make a huge difference in the lives of these animals.

Thank YOU for everything u do ❤️❤️❤️❤️

And for everyone else out there that would like to help Isla Animals. You can donate and/or set up monthly donations at IslaAnimals.org/donate

Yay! <3

There's also Amazon Smile to help even more:)

This post comes with one of my favorite pictures (dont worry the cord was temporary). I’m writing to ask everyone’s advice. We function on our monthly payments, and if we are lucky enough to get extra donations we can do more. But it’s the monthly income that keeps us going. We need to increase our monthly amount by $2,000.00. That means 100 people donating $20 a month or 200 people donating $10 a month etc. There are so many animal lovers. I’m honestly asking for suggestions on how to make this happen. I know everyone has special skills and mine is dogs, not fund raising. Please share your ideas.

Wow! Sounds like slot signed up for monthly donations! That’s great!

Isla Animals is having a major fundraiser in July.....July 22 to be exact....its call the Isla Survivor. All proceeds will go to Isla Animals. And there will be an afterparty if you don’t want to participate, and possibly an on-line silent auction. Check it out. Called Isla Survivor

Isla Animals- I have a wedding coming up in November and my first thoughts was to bring a group of guests to come and visit your facility in hopes that they would support you. Perhaps as a welcome gift to my guest I'll add an info note stating that we donated on their behalf to Isla Animals with a brochure to help them see what you do. My fiance and I chose Sandos Eco Resort for the same reason. They seem to also care for the local animals like the cats that live in the resort and have them spay and neuter. It's becoming more common people are looking to make a difference where they spend their money. With all the resorts in your area and Playa Del Carmen and all the numerous weddings year round, there's got to be a way to connect them to get you for funding on a regular basis.

I just set up my 25$ a month may donation. So easy !:)

In September, I will do a small fundraiser for Isla Animals. I am a hobby beekeeper and normally give the honey away to friends and family... NOT ANYMORE!! 😁😁 Aiming for $300 CDN.

Being steps away from the Isla Mujeres Palace hotel, you may have opportunities to partner for donations....an envelope left on pillows each day or a donation request at checkout. I found you on a purposeful google search for a shelter to visit, but many vacationers don't think to do that. ❤

Any chance Alison has a Canadian charitable donation registration number?

You could have a name the pup fundraiser. $5 per name you could name a puppy or offer one of your t shirts for a 10-20 dollar donation

I support an org that does five dollar Friday's. Every Friday they post the reminder that for the price of a latte you can help support them, I think a lot more people can give a smaller amount weekly, check out RezQ Dogs Facebook page to see the example of 5 dollar fridays

I hadn’t heard of you until after my second trip to Isla Mujeres. Just keep getting the word out and encourage people to share your posts and videos.

I have just signed up to donate 5$ US a month through PayPal. 💗

I’ve donated at isla animals but I’m not sure how to donate online 🤷🏼‍♀️ if I knew how I would!

Charge people to name puppies, do raffles, sponsor puppies/dogs

Are there dogs that remain with you indefinitely for various health reasons? They could be sponsor dogs.

Adorable <3

Sponsor a crate? ... same idea as puppy but you can do it long term

The fisher dogs! They were so tiny

If local businesses will participate, perhaps a discount card. For example 10% off a cart rental, discount ferry tickets, free drink or appetizer at a restaurant, discount admission to the turtle farm etc. It’ll draw more business to those who participate and help support your efforts.

How do we sign up for monthly contributions?

A tub full of love

Know a good/professional photographer who would donate some time? pictures of puppies doing cute things sell like crazy. Maybe frame them with collected driftwood from around the island?

Done.

Try a go fund page on Facebook to see if people will donate directly

Garage sales?

Who said I didn’t like cats. Another great free spay and neuter day. We spayed and neutered 84 cats and dogs just in the month of May during our Thursday clinics. Two hundred and seventy four since the beginning of the year. That doesn’t include sponsored and outreach. Thank you everyone for making that possible. It’s been so hot, we’ve had the electricity at the clinic go out a couple of times and the government wants us to use less air conditioning but our concerns are always for the dogs. There’s no cross ventilation so we’re going to buy two mounted wall fans. They sound good, you can change their direction as opposed to ceiling fans. They will cost about $80.00 a piece, if anyone would like to help out with the cost.
